Dan Botti, Principal

Dan is the Principal and the Portfolio Manager for Peregrine.  He is responsible for designing and implementing customized investment portfolios.  Dan’s time and attention is devoted to gauging the conditions of the markets and adjusting client weightings and asset allocation.  Dan is responsible for all individual security selection at the firm.  He is Peregrine’s Chief Compliance Officer. Just like other Peregrine staff, Dan performs portfolio reviews and updates in meeting with clients.

Before starting Peregrine, Dan worked for Merrill Lynch for 18 years as a financial consultant. Dan graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado in 1982.

Dan and his wife Cendi live in Portland and have three children. The oldest, Audrey attends Oregon State where she runs track and cross country. Margo and Jack both attend primary school in the Beaverton School District. Outside of the office, Dan enjoys skiing and family activities.

Steve Binns, Investment Adviser

Steve joined forces with Peregrine in 2011. He brings 26 years of industry experience and very unique talents in managing investment assets. His skills are ideally suited to rapidly changing financial times. His job function will be as a Portfolio Manager and he will work with Dan on investment strategy and security selection.

Steve was a financial consultant at UBS for 10 years and Merrill Lynch for 16 years before kicking off his new role as a Registered Investment Adviser. Recently at UBS, he was responsible for managing over $50 million of client portfolios. He is a 1984 graduate of Oregon State with a BS in Marketing.

Steve and his wife, Kristen, live in Lake Oswego and have two children, Tyler and Alison. Tyler attends Oregon State University and Alison goes to Lake Oswego High School.

Carol Leeland, Investment Adviser

Carol is an investment adviser and director at Peregrine Asset Advisers, Inc.  She manages and directs all specific needs of our clients.  This includes new client transitions such as preparation of operational documents and related customer maintenance issues.  Carol is a research specialist resolving specific financial issues and requests from our clients.  Carol manages our retirement plan distributions and directs the production of our performance reports.  Carol is always available for a portfolio review update or meeting.

Before starting with Peregrine, Carol was employed by Merrill Lynch for eleven years as a Client Associate and partner with Dan. Carol received a BA in Political Economics from Barnard College of Columbia University and an MBA from George Fox University.

Carol is originally from Pennsylvania. She lives in Portland and enjoys many activities including gardening, fishing, golf and reading.

Carol also owns Coral Bells Designs where she makes vivid, elegant floral greeting cards.

Grant Kerger, Investment Adviser

Grant is an investment adviser who is responsible for trade allocations, trade executions and implementing the investment policy dictated by the Portfolio Manager.  He coordinates the outside brokerage relationships that give Peregrine the ability to participate in the IPO and syndicate markets.  Grant also reviews client portfolios and provides updates.

Grant graduated from the University of Arizona in May of 2003 with a B.S. in Finance. He began his career as an investment adviser with Peregrine immediately after graduation. He brings a fresh approach to the financial markets that is not mired in the traditional form of investment analysis that has been rendered so ineffective.

Grant maintains a single digit handicap in golf. He previously worked for four years at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course in Portland, Oregon.

Grant is also a native of Portland, Oregon and a graduate of Sunset High School.

Marilyn Scofield

Marilyn maintains and operates Peregrine’s performance and reporting software. She directs the download of data into client accounts.  She maintains and updates cost basis and facilitates the record keeping for account transfers. Marilyn is chiefly responsible for maintaining our investment performance records and the corresponding benchmarks.  She produces and tracks the data that is part of the Peregrine Compliance program.

Her professional experience includes over 19 years in the insurance and financial industry.  She attended Holy Names College in Oakland, CA.  Marilyn and her husband live in the Beaverton area.  Leisure activities include photography, antiques, decorating and classic automobiles.
